More often than not over the past 4 years, I've written about the permanent closures of restaurants. I won't do that today. Instead, I'm here to tell you about a temporary closure at one of the hottest restaurants in all of Connecticut.

When was the last time that you said "You know where we have to go eat tonight? Thomaston." Not often, right? The beautiful high end restaurants of Litchfield and Bantam usually draw us instead. Lately, what I've heard is "You gotta go to Tramonti Ristorante in Thomaston".

Every single person that I respect for their opinions on food has raved after dining at Tramonti Ristorante in Thomaston, especially paisan. The Italian food that is served at Tramonti draws universal praise from every single Italian-American that I know that's eaten there. The other thing that everyone mentions is the experience provided by the chef and staff. Nearly everyone has been blown away by the hospitality, the samples of other dishes, and the generosity of the staff. I have yet to experience it for myself, because they've been booked solid with reservations the evenings that I've tried.

That problem should disappear this weekend. Tramonti Ristoranti is temporarily closed as they make the move across Thomaston to their new location. As of right now, Tramonti is no longer operating at 131 Main Street, but don't worry, the doors will open at their new location at 76 Watertown Road in Thomaston this Friday, May 3, 2024. The new location is located in 76 Professional Plaza, right near the Mazda dealership.
