You don't see drive-ins a lot anymore which really sucks because the concept of them is amazing. Family night out? Easy. Date night? Easy. Hangout with your friends? Easy.

Connecticut is one of the few lucky states that still holds on to an amazing drive-in and I truthfully hope it never closes down. Every time the lineup gets announced, people all around the state get excited because it's such a fun thing to do and the lineup just means we're even closer to summer.

Southington Drive-In is located at 995 Meriden-Waterbury Turnpike and they are in their 15th year as a community-owned and volunteer-operated venue. Just yesterday, they posted their new lineup of movies they will be showing throughout the summer. The season kicks off on Saturday, June 1 and will continue through Saturdays in the summer with the last day on September 14.

To kick off their season, they are starting off with a showing of Jaws on June 1. So many more movies are shown throughout the summer and they are ending with The Sandlot on September 14. They have a great lineup this year. There is stuff for anyone and it will make the absolute perfect night out.

Gates open at 6 PM and movies start about 30 minutes after sunset. The cost of the drive-in is $20 per car or $5 walk-ins. You are allowed to bring lawn chairs as well. The theater is attached to a specific station in your car and then you get to sit back and enjoy the movie.

Here is the entire lineup posted from the Southington Drive-In Facebook page:

Let me know which shows you'll be attending. The Harry Potter and Sandlot dates are calling my name. And I just wanted to give a huge thank you to The Southington Drive-In for keeping this tradition alive and for offering something so many people around Connecticut absolutely love.
