Some states do better than others by their teachers, and thankfully, New York and Connecticut are at the top of the list for being the most teacher friendly states.

A new Wallet Hub study ranked "2018's Best & Worst States for Teachers." This study is an indicator to me that education is a valued resource in the region. Coming from New York, I’ve always known that teaching is an excellent field to work in with great pay, stability and incentives.

One summer, I took a trip to Florida where I struck up a conversation with a teacher on the beach. To my dismay, she said she was working two other jobs to barely make ends meet. Interestingly enough, Florida is way at the bottom of this list.

Wallet Hub studied stuff like teachers’ salaries, student teacher ratios in classes, classroom safety, spending per pupil and more. This great news for our educators here in Connecticut and bordering New York, and it helps justify how much we spend as far as taxes are concerned.
