The annual Halas Farm Market JDRF Paint a Pumpkin event took place this weekend to raise money for juvenile diabetes research.

We had a great time at the farm on Sunday helping support and get the word out on such an awful disease for young kids. After all was set and done, the event raised just over $25,000 thanks to everyone who was a part of it!

JDRF, also known as the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, is the leading global organization funding type 1 diabetes research. According to the JDRF, your pancreas stops producing insulin, which your body needs to get energy from food, explaining why people with type 1 diabetes need insulin injections.

Imagine all of this going on within a child's life, while they're trying to go to school and play like any normal kid.  JDRF is doing their part to help make this history, and with the money raised this weekend, they are one step closer!

Thanks to the local community and Halas Farm Market for such an awesome event!
