According to the Connecticut State Poilce, a group of teenagers thought that it would be a good idea to steal a BMW from New Canaan this weekend. Then, they found out that it is never a good idea to mess with the boys in blue.

Connecticut State Police report that New Canaan Police received information that the Beemer was in the vicinity of Woods Way Road in Southbury, CT. They requested help from Connecticut State Police Southbury Troop A to help find the 2017 BMW that was reported stolen last Thursday.

Southbury Police Officers and Connecticut State Troopers located and stopped the car. They took two teenagers into custody but two other juveniles sprinted from the vehicle into the nearby woods. That was when the cops let the dogs out. State Police K9 Unit chased down one of the teens, who was also taken into custody.

The apprehended juveniles are aged 15, 16 and 17. They were charged with Motor Vehicle Theft, Larceny 6th Degree, and Interfering with an Officer.

All three were released to the custody of their parents. They will face these charges on November 2, 2017 in Waterbury Juvenile Court.
