Candles and flowers have been dropped off all day in front of 50 Walnut Street in Waterbury, CT where a young mother's life was cut short.

NBCConnecticut.com reports that neighbors heard gunshots and called police at around 3:00am this morning (October 11). When officers arrived, they found 30-year-old Fransua Guzman, a mother of 4, with a gun shot to her head. They also found a 53-year-old woman with a gun shot wound in her stomach. Both women were taken to St. Mary's Hospital in Waterbury where Guzman was pronounced dead. The other woman is currently in stable condition. It is unclear what the relationship between the two victims is.

Neighbors told police that Fransua Guzman, who was also known as "Frankie", was a great mother and a good person. Police are still investigating the shooting and there are no other details available at this time. If you have any information, please contact Waterbury Police.
