5 New Milford Dogs Looking For Forever Homes In 2018
Every Tuesday morning, we feature an adoptable Dog or Cat from the Animal Welfare Society in New Milford.
Since we only do our "Pet of the Week" segment once a week, and we've been in Holiday mode for the last few weeks, let's revisit some of the dogs you may have missed when you were busy during the Christmas rush.
Both Gemini and his sister Pisces are a Heinz 57 variety, meaning they are your standard mutt. They have great personalities, and like most puppies love to play and investigate, so just keep that in mind when thinking about adopting a young dog.
This is Roscoe, a very cute male Beagle mix, who's been at the Animal Welfare Society since being rescued from a southern high kill shelter in October. Roscoe is hoping he finds someone who wants to give him his first forever home.
His name is Benji and he's only about 4-months-old. He's a Hound Dog mix, but shouldn't get too much bigger then he is right now.
Benji was a stray down south and was rescued by the Animal Welfare Society. Now that he's here in Connecticut, he's looking for his first forever home. He's very smart, and even though he's just four months, he's already mastered fetch and retrieve and can even sit. So far, he gets along well with other dogs, and loves people, so you should have no problem, especially with smaller children.
Ellie Mae is your typical southern hound mix, and will be one of the sweetest dogs you will ever meet. She came to the Animal Welfare Society from West Virginia and she is about 3-years-old.
Ellie Mae knows some basic commands like "sit", and is very food motivated. She loves playing with her other dog friends at the Animal Welfare Society, but at the end of the day, she is always down for belly rubs and cuddles. If you are looking for an overall great dog, she is the one for you!
Astra is about a five year old Lab mix and came to the Animal Welfare Society from a high kill shelter down south. She's in New Milford now, just waiting for her new forever home.Astra seems to love everyone. She gets along well with other dogs and cats too, and after a brief introduction, she warmed up nice to us and even started in with some kisses.
