Fire Ravages O’Brien’s Irish Pub in Danbury, Causes Significant Damage

A fire broke out early Sunday morning at the popular Irish bar at O'Brien's Irish Pub, located at 83 Lake Ave. in Danbury.

According to the News-Times, the fire on Sunday caused pretty significant damage to the restaurant and the kitchen. Flames were seen just before 2 am when firefighters responded to the fire without anyone at the restaurant at the time.

The cause of the fire remains under police investigation at this point, but hopefully they find out who did it. This is never a way a business owner would want to begin a summer season.

We send warm thoughts to the owners of O'Brien's during this time and wish them the best. I certainly hope that this was an accident, because I could never understand why anyone would want to do this to a BAR of all places!
