A Taste of Taste of Country Music Festival From Our Perspective

If you can imagine this, the planning for the festival begins before the current one is underway. That means that this year when Jason Aldean takes the stage on Friday, June 9, the headliner for Taste of Country Music Festival 2018 is already secured.

When I look at it from our point of view here at the radio station, we pretty much have to show up. But, wow, does just showing up involve a lot.

• Who is going?
• What days will they be going?
• What do we need to bring for our live broadcasts?
• Who mans our tent?
• Who womans our tent?
• Who will be doing the artist interviews?
• etc
• etc
• etc
• and of course etc

Yet, the thing that amazes me the most is that out of all of the wonderful things that I have been lucky enough to be a part of in my many years of radio, The Taste of Country Music Festival is certainly one of the biggest and most exciting parts of my career. Since my mind thinks in lyrics a lot, a part of a Carly Simon song keeps popping up in my mind. It's pretty cool that after all of this time I can say, "these are the good old days."
