So David Letterman announced his retirement from his late night slot on CBS a few weeks back, and it looks his buddy on at 12:35 is doing the same!

Craig Ferguson announced yesterday that towards the end of 2014 in December, he will be putting an end to his days of hosting the Late Late Show on CBS.

This comes a few weeks after David Letterman said he was retiring and that Stephen Colbert formerly of Comedy Central would be taking over the Late Show.

Do you think the outcome of the Late Show's new host announcement had anything to do with this?  I wonder if Craig moves to another network or actually hangs up the mic for good. Rumors surfaced that his contract included a $5 million check if he didn't get the 11:35 slot.

Now what?  Does CBS fill the 12:35 slot to compete with Seth Meyers on NBC?
