*UPDATE: The suspect has been arrested with the help of Danbury's residents.

The Danbury Police Department is actively seeking information on a man suspected of robbing a bank on North Street Wednesday (Jan. 18).

According to a press release, Officers responded to the Union Savings Bank located at 126 North Street at about 3:00 PM today (January 18) after a robbery was reported. In true stereotypical, bank-robber fashion, the suspect pictured above reportedly handed a note to a bank teller, letting her know he had a weapon on his person.

While surveillance and reports say that no weapon was seen, the wanted suspect ran from the scene on foot with an undisclosed amount of money. He was last seen running on Hayestown Avenue heading toward Tamarack in the area of the North Street Shopping Center.  He has been described as a 5'8'' white male with a husky build.

Anyone who may have information on the robbery or said suspect is asked to please call the completely confidential Danbury Police Tips Line at 203-790-8477.
