Bethel resident Roxanne Doyan was recently named Mrs. Connecticut and will compete for the title of Mrs. International next summer.

 

According to newstimes.com, Roxanne was crowned Mrs. Connecticut 2016. She and her husband are also the co-owner of Connecticut Martial Arts in Danbury. Don't mess with her though, she is a fifth-degree black belt in taekwondo.

Mrs. Doyan who is 45, is also the mother of two and grew up in New Jersey. She's not a newcomer to this type of competition, she's also a two time winner of the pageant. Back in 2005 before her move to Connecticut she won the title of Mrs. New Jersey.

We'll all be rooting for her when she compete's against contestants from all over the world for the title of Mrs. International in Jacksonville, Florida July 22nd and 23rd.

Founded in 1989, the pageant aims “to promote today’s married women, their accomplishments, and commitment to family and marriage,” according to the Mrs. International website. The pageant showcases women 21 to 56 years old who have been married for at least six months.
