Two local State Reps, Will Duff from Bethel, and Steven Harding of Brookfield, have joined forces with Veterans Services of New England to host "Stuff a Humvee" and will be collecting non-perishable food items and toiletries that will then be donated to local Veterans in need.

All items collected will be turned over to Veteran Services of New England, whose main goal is to help those in the reserves, active duty, and prior service members and their immediate families transition back to civilian life.

The event will take place on Saturday, July 7, from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm at the Bethel Municipal Center located at 1 School Street in Bethel, CT.

If you want to help 'Stuff a Humvee', they're specifically looking for people to donate personal care items and food such as:  some of the items they are looking for:

  • Deodorant
  • Razors
  • Hand soap
  • Toothbrushes
  • Bottled water
  • non-perishable food
  • Ground coffee
  • ...etc.

Representative Steve Harding of Brookfield recently told patch.com:

I know that our local community has great appreciation for our military who protect our freedom here and around the globe. This initiative is a great way to support these brave men and women who do so much for us.
