Tomorrow is Thanksgiving and you know what that means. It's almost time for the craziness of holiday shopping. I'm not talking about the stores that are opening on Thanksgiving (I don't do Thanksgiving shopping); I'm talking about Black Friday.

We've all seen the crazy videos of people storming stores for the great deals. I have to say, it's a little embarrassing to see those videos. I've never understood why people would put themselves in that situation, but I'm not a big fan of huge crowds anyway.

With the holiday shopping can come some questionable behavior. People are trying to get all the gifts they need so they can cross shopping off their to-do list and it can get a little stressful. However, that isn't a reason to disrespect the retailers or other shoppers. I worked in retail for many years and it is amazing the attitude some people will give to retailers simply because they are standing behind the counter and it gets worse during the holidays.

So this holiday season I just ask that everyone try to be as respectful as you can to one another. Whether it's your fellow shoppers or the cashier behind the counter, everyone will have some level of stress this holiday season. You never know what another person is going through.

I found some good Black Friday etiquette tips from Moms Need to Know. Some of the tips she lists are:

  • Be Early, Not Pushy
  • Make Decisions Out of the Way
  • Show Some Christmas Cheer

She has 8 tips in total and you can check them out on her website.

Happy Thanksgiving! Hope to see you at the Danbury Fair on Black Friday for the KICKS Shopper Shuttle!
