As the aromas of turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes and pumpkin pie fill our homes, so too do thoughts of lining up in the dark and standing in the cold to get unbeatable deals on holiday gifts fill our minds: Black Friday is here. If this thought excites you (as opposed to filling you with dread), we have a list of some of the big-name stores and when they’ll be open and offering those crazy Black Friday discounts.

Kmart logoKmart

Kmart is throwing Black Friday out the window by opening at 6 a.m. on Thanksgiving Day. They’ll have deals that day from 6 a.m. until 5 p.m. and then new deals starting at 7 p.m. on Thursday and going through 3 a.m. on Friday. Friday’s deals kick in at 6 a.m. and go until 12 p.m. There are deals that will last from Thursday through Saturday, as well as online pre-sales starting November 22 for members only.

Best Buy logoBest Buy

Best Buy will kick off the Black Friday festivities by opening its doors at 5 p.m. on Thursday for early bird doorbusters. They will close again at 1 a.m. on Friday, only to reopen a few hours later at 8 a.m. They will start handing out tickets for the items you’re interested in two hours before the 8 a.m. opening. You can shop deals early online both Thursday and Friday.

If you have lots of kiddie stockings to fill, you can start your shopping at Toys R Us at 5 p.m. on Thursday. They have deals running from 5 to 9 that evening and then start up new bargains on Friday at 7 a.m. 200 doorbusters might be worth inhaling your pumpkin pie.

Target logoTarget

Target is going “new traditional” by opening at 6 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day. This seems to be the trend for most retailers. They don’t appear to be staggering their deals. They will offer early-bird discounts online starting on Thursday if you want to skip the crowds and just risk getting gravy on your computer.

Walmart logoWalmart

You don’t have to wait until Thanksgiving to get your Walmart shopping done. Their pre-Black Friday event starts on Friday, November 21, at 8 a.m. in stores. Otherwise, they too will open their doors on Thursday at 6 p.m. with doorbuster deals. New discounts take effect at 8 p.m. that day. Then, on Friday at 6 a.m. there will be fresh bargains, with other deals valid Friday through Sunday and Cyber Monday discounts to close out your shopping. They will also offer one-hour guarantees on popular items.

Kohl's logoKohl’s

You can always get a deal at Kohl’s, but they won’t be outdone for Black Friday, when they will have more than 500 specials and Kohl’s Cash earnings. Keep in mind that they’ll be open from 6 p.m. Thursday until 1 p.m. on Friday. Plan to be done shopping there by Friday afternoon. If you miss it, though, you can get Black Friday discounts online now through 3 p.m. CST Friday, November 28.
