“Black” is a Lot More Than a Song Title To Dierks Bentley

Dierks Bentley's song, Black, has intrigued me since I first heard it. Doing a little research on it has intrigued me even more. Not only did he film an amazingly beautiful video for his song, it also stars his wife, Cassidy, who's maiden name happens to be "Black".

It doesn't stop there. Dierks Bentley also filmed another video for this same song and it is part of a four-part mini-Dierkseries. But, before we get into that, I wanted to examine this video which features Mrs. Bentley.

TheBoot.com writes that since this album was written about the intimacies of the couple's 11-year marriage, Dierks could not agree to a female lead for the song's video. He called his wife and told her that he just can't see anyone else playing this part. Even though Cassidy is extremely camera shy, she agreed to star in her husband's video. She tells TheBoot.com:

“When I think about intimacy, you do go through these landscapes together that are totally foreign that you’ve never been in. You have to take turns leading and following each other to stay together.”
