I fly out of Bradley International airport frequently, so this news makes me happy. Anything to make the travel process better, I give a thumbs up to.

There is nothing worse than wanting to get out of town -- or needing to -- and having issues with your flight. Often, when I fly out of Bradley airport in Windsor Locks, I work my air shift before I fly. That means I'm hightailing it across the state to make my flight. I need all the help I can get, so I welcome this addition.

According to fox61.com, Bradley International Airport is now using Twitter to help alert passengers about their flights, and they are ahead of the curve with this piece of technology.

The updates are now being posted on a dedicated Twitter page that is run by Ireland-based tech firm, TIC. The company processes Twitter messages for passengers at airports that serve 170-million passengers a year. It's currently being used by Dubai International Airport, Melbourne Airport and London City Airport, but Bradley is the first U.S. airport to use TIC's Twitter technology.

Here's how it works:

Obviously, this is from the Melbourne airport. So if you are on Twitter then you need to give a follow to @BDLFlightinfo for Bradley International Airport.

Very cool. Now watch out, I've got a flight to catch!
