A threat written with a Sharpie and left in a boys bathroom at Danbury High School two weeks ago was found not to be credible by Danbury Police, according to Mayor Mark Boughton.

As reported by The News Times the mayor said Sunday, "Our police department has fully investigated the threat and deemed it not credible. We take everything that is said or written about a threat to the schools seriously and detectives investigated this thoroughly and found it to be not viable."

Parents alarmed at seeing information about the incident on Facebook alerted the Boughton who assured everyone that the incident had been fully investigated by police.

Parents were also informed of the situation today through the schools "instant alert" system, which issued a message assure parents that the incident had been investigated and found not viable.

Boughton also told The News Times that there will be added police presence at the high school on Wednesday and That Superintendent of Schools Sal Pascarella will assure parents the incident has been thoroughly investigated.
