A Brewster man was arrested after he allegedly cut a friend’s neck with a knife.

New York State Police from Brewster arrested 25-year-old John K. Schoenfelder Jr., of Brewster, for assault, reckless endangerment, felonies and criminal possession of a weapon, a misdemeanor.

State Police and Village of Brewster Police Department responded to assist EMS at the Brewster Fire Department with a reported assault. Putnam County 911 reported that the victim arrived at the fire house for medical assistance after he had been cut with a knife by a male acquaintance.

Police say an investigation revealed that Schoenfelder cut the victim’s neck with a knife. The victim was treated for his injuries, which aren’t life-threatening. Schoenfelder was located on North Main Street by responding police agencies and arrested.

Schoenfelder was arraigned in the Town of Southeast Court and remanded to the Putnam County Jail in lieu of $5,000 cash bail.
