Bronx Zoo Day Trips – A Great Way to Spend a Summer Day [VIDEO]

My husband and I love to bring the kids to the Bronx Zoo whenever we can. It's always a good time, and you can have a different experience each time.

Yesterday, we took the kids to the zoo again. It's around an hour drive for us, so it's not a bad drive. The kids love the Children's Zoo, and that is usually a stop for us when we are there. The last time, the only part of the Children's Zoo that was open was the petting zoo, but this time, we were able to walk through the whole area.

The petting zoo is always a fun experience. The goats never fail to entertain people. The last time we were there, one of them kept jumping out of the enclosure to get to the food. This time, a couple of them were "fighting."

The other fun part of this trip was that there were some babies that had been born. We love the prairie dog section, as it is always fun for the kids. They love popping up in the covered sections to see the prairie dogs up close. There was a baby prairie dog in the enclosure, and it was so cute to watch it interact with the other prairie dogs.

Another baby that had been born was in the White-naped Crane section. I couldn't get a good picture, because they were off to the side eating, but the baby was also very cute.

Other favorites of the day were the Butterfly Garden (love all the butterflies and the koi fish), the bunny, and the otters.

One of the otters was very determined to get branches off the trees. He was literally swinging from the branches.

I love going to the Bronx Zoo and seeing new things each time we go. Like I said, it's not a far trip, the membership price is very reasonable (we are members), and it's a huge zoo, so you can see different things each time you go.
