For the past few years, I've driven by the Brookfield Town Beach area on Candlewood Lake Road, and seen it torn apart.

It's so nice to see the completed beach area as I drive by on the way to the marina or Down the Hatch for some drinks.

According to The News Times, lots of local residents headed over to the new beach area on Saturday to celebrate the official completion of the $2.4 million renovations. The new beach has an expanded sandy area, all new landscaping on the grounds, a new lifeguard house, restrooms, a community room and concession stand.

In addition to the beach area, Cadigan Park, which is across the street also got much love and care over the past couple of years thanks to a $3 million upgrade. New bathrooms, pavilion and beautiful new playing fields were developed.

The past few summers were so depressing driving by these areas during the construction, but it's so nice to see the completed brand new facilities!
