These insects may be pretty, but they are not your friend.

According to chesco.org, the spotted lanternfly is an invasive planthopper native to China. These cute little bugs may be interesting to watch, but they kill plant life. Believe it or not, the Connecticut Agricultural Experiment Station explains, "If you spot one, squish it and report it!"
