First Light Hydro Generating Company will begin its annual drawdowns of nearby waters within the coming weeks.

 

According to newstimes.com drawdowns are scheduled for the coming weeks.

Candlewood Lake’s drawdown will begin Nov. 1. During the drawdown, the water will be at the minimum pond levels so planned maintenance and inspections can be completed by the Rocky River hydroelectric power station. Water levels are expected to return to normal on April 20.

The drawdown for Lake Zoar will take place at the Stevenson Damn power station and will last for nine days, beginning Oct. 24. The water levels will return to normal on Nov. 1.

The company will drawdown Lake Lillinonah at the Shepaug Dam for a week beginning Nov. 2. Water levels are expected to return to normal on Nov. 8.
