He's our featured Pet of the Week, his name is Cassian, and yes he's a Treeing Walker Coon Hound.

Cassian was a stray who came to the Animal Welfare Society from a Southern high kill shelter. He's been through a lot in his first year and a half, but now is all set to find his forever home. Let's meet him:

Cassian is your typical hound, he's very friendly, a little goofy, but when he's running around with his nose to the ground, it is a beautiful sight.

He gets along well with people and has no problem with other dogs, as a matter of fact, he's actually a little on the shy side at times.

He's also a little on the thin side, so if you adopt him you might consider getting some feeding advice from the crew at the Animal Welfare Society.

For more information on Cassian, and all the other adoptable Dogs and Cats, call the Animal Welfare Society at (860) 354-1350 or visit them on Dodd Road in New Milford.

They’re open Tuesday's from 11 AM to 7 PM, and Wednesday through Saturday from 11 AM to 2 PM.
