City of Danbury Declares Snow Emergency
Danbury officials have officially declared a level two snow emergency for the entire city that goes into effect tomorrow morning at 5:00 AM.
A press release from Mayor Mark Boughton's office has been issued, asking residents to remove vehicles from all streets. If you need a place to park your car, the Patriot Garage near City Center and the Danbury Ice Arena will be open at 5:00 AM tomorrow, and will offer free parking.
Danbury residents have also been asked to clear your sidewalks and your fire hydrants so that they are accessible in the event of an emergency.
It has also been announced that Danbury Public schools, City Hall, and the Danbury Public Library will all be closed tomorrow.
The press release from Mayor Boughton's office went on to express the danger that driving in tomorrow's predicted conditions can bring. All Danbury residents are advised not to travel unless absolutely necessary, and if you must drive, please use a vehicle that has all-wheel drive.
