When I started thinking about this topic for a post, the picture that popped in my head was of Carrie Bradshaw sitting in her New York City apartment looking out the window before she starts to type:

Is communication technology ruining our ability to communicate?

Let me explain. I have been noticing more and more that people seem to go to great lengths to avoid talking to a live person. Whether it's on the phone or face-to-face, the thought of having a conversation with someone sincerely freaks, even stresses, some people out.

I started to think about why. With all the different ways to communicate nowadays, I think it is actually hindering our ability to communicate.

Think about it. Between text, email, Facebook, and all the other social media sites, how often to people have full conversations on the phone or in person?

So what are your thoughts? Would you rather talk to an actual person or do you prefer to email/text? Take the poll to let us know and you can explain or give us your view in the comments. I'm really interested in what you guys think!
