Giant Kids Summer Fun Festival
The Giant Kids 5th Anniversary Summer Fun Festival will be happening on July 31st, 11AM-5:30PM at Camp Kiwi in Mahopac, NY...This will benefit children who are battling cancer and supports Yale New Haven Hospital, Connecticut Children's Medical Center and Maria Fareri Children's Hospital. Summer of Service Program - Volunteer Center
The Youth Volunteer Corps of Western Connecticut (YVC) has limited availability for the “Summer of Service” program from July 13th to August 12th. The YVC will be partnering with five different local nonprofits for interesting environmental projects. The program spans five weeks, Tuesday through Thursday from 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM. Youth ages eleven to eighteen years are welcome to participate. The cost per week is $75 or a total of $300 for all five weeks; this fee will cover lunch for all participants and the supplies needed to complete each project.
Students entering 6th-9th grade who complete 100 hours of service will receive a $500 higher education award. Limited financial aid is available. Transportation will not be provided. Registration is limited to 20 participants per week.

Pawling Fire Dept Carnival/Community Day
The Pawling Fire Dept will be holding their annual Carnival and Community Day Friday August 6-Saturday August 7th at Lakeside Park in Pawling, NY. This great event will raise money for your local Pawling FD, showcase local businesses and teach fire safety! There will be lots of different activities on both Friday and Saturday! Volunteer Center/Taste of Danbury
The Volunteer Center serving Western Connecticut is working with City Center Danbury to recruit, train and manage volunteers for this year’s upcoming TASTE OF GREATER DANBURY. This wonderful community event is being held on Saturday, September 11 and Sunday, September 12. Volunteers aged 18 and above are needed Saturday from 9:00am – 10:00pm and Sunday from 10:00am – 8:00pm for 2-3 hour shifts.
There will be a volunteer orientation and training session on Tuesday, September 7 at 5:30pm. Volunteers will be given a voucher for 1 food item and a soft drink at the TASTE OF GREATER DANBURY.

Danbury Public Schools Seamless Summer Food Program
Danbury Public Schools announces its participation in the federally funded Seamless Summer Food Program. Under this program, nutritious meals are provided to all children 18 years of age and under free of charge at the following sites:

The meals at each site are nutritious, complete meals that usually consist of a sandwich, a fruit, vegetable and milk. This year, the menu features deli-inspired sandwiches and kids favorite hot lunches. Adequate nutrition during the summer will help your child be prepared to learn when they return to school in the fall! Last year, over 31,000 meals were served to children in Danbury through the Seamless Summer Food Program.
