Students from Trumbull will be taking part in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade Thursday, as the Trumbull High School Golden Eagle Marching Band performs for the entire nation in the parade.

According to NBC Connecticut, they are one of only a handful of high school marching bands in the line up, and the only marching band representing the Northeast. More than 50 million people will watch the parade from their homes every year, and over three and a half million will watch it from the streets of New York City.

As a parade send off for the band last night, the Westfield Trumbull Mall honored them, as they marched in a special parade through the upper level of the mall, and then rendered a 15 minute performance in front of the Macy’s courtyard.

The Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade kicks off at 9AM Thanksgiving, on NBC Connecticut 30, and on WNBC 4 New York television.
