Sometimes, you have to realize that we live in a time when anyone can record just about anything you say or do, without you even knowing. It's happened to a Connecticut football coach recently, and he lost his job because of it.

A Guilford High School assistant football coach's profanity laced rant has surfaced, and has gotten the coach fired from his job. Coach Nick D'Angelo, who probably should have known better because he's also a Hamden police officer, was fired from his coaching gig after an investigation by the Guilford School Superintendent, Paul Freeman, who ruled that he found the language "inappropriate and unacceptable."

In a statement to wtnh.com, Dr. Freeman had this to say about the recording and the fate of Coach D'Angelo:

While it appears the incident on the recording did not occur during this past season or with Guilford athletes, the coach who has been associated with that recording will not be working for Guilford schools in the future.

Coach D'Angelo admitted that it was his voice on the recording, but doesn't recall where or what team he was coaching when the tape was made. He also said he never gave anyone permission to record him.

D'Angelo did coach other teams in the area, specifically the head coaching position at Coginchaug High School in Durham, but he quit that job back in 2015, just prior to the season ending. Here's the report as it aired on WTNH complete with some of the recording in question:
