Saturday night, hundreds turned out at the Crowne Plaza in Danbury for the 9th Annual Dancing With Our Stars benefit for the Hillside Food Outreach.

For the last six years, my wife and I have been volunteers for the Hillside Food Outreach. We deliver food each month to area residents who are in need of assistance and who wouldn't have enough food for themselves and their families.

Food, however, costs money, and each year, the Outreach sponsors two big events that help raise some of the money they need to buy food and to stock their warehouse. The annual gala featuring Yankees great Bernie Williams is their big fall event, and the Dancing With Our Stars event is their big spring fundraiser.

I have been hosting the Dancing With Our Stars event for the past five years, and Saturday night, bankers, lawyers, doctors, real estate agents, car dealers and more partnered with a professional instructor from Arthur Murray Dance Studio's and took to the Dance Floor at the Crowne Plaza in Danbury to strut their stuff and raise money for the outreach.

We always have a fantastic panel of judges. This year, it featured Kimberly Locke, who was part of American Idol Season 2, comedian Christine O'Leary, a Dean from Western Connecticut State University, and a school administrator.

When the music and cheering stopped, thousands of dollars had been raised for the Outreach, and the audience danced well into the night at the DWOS after party.

Check out a few of the photos from the event in the slide show:
