Dr. Majid Sadigh could actually see the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro but did he have enough strength to climb the rest of the way?

The people of Naggalama, Uganda were counting on the doc to make his way to the very top of Mount Kilimanjaro. As he approached the summit with his right knee in so much pain that he could hardly move, he remembered the words of a fellow climber who told him to "talk to the mountain."

According to an article in the NewsTimes, Danbury physician, Dr. Sadigh had made a promise to raise $19,341 for a new microbiology lab at the St. Francis Naggalama Hospital. That $19,341 represented $1 for every foot of the climb up Mount Kilimanjaro. With his knee throbbing Dr. Majid Sadigh began his conversation with the mountain:

I don't mind to die to be honest, but if I die now, there are so many people that are going to be, really, under a lot of emotional pressure.

You won't believe this, but as the sun came out, a feeling of increased energy overcame the doctor's body and up he went for the last 2 1/2 kilometers to the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro. His 8-day trip was a rousing success for both Naggalama Hospital in Uganda and for Danbury Dr. Majid Sadigh.

I would say this is a golden page of my life because it touched my heart so much.
