Danbury is going to the Dogs.

The City of Danbury has officially announced the opening of the long awaited Dog Park on Monday, October 24, and will hold a special ribbon cutting ceremony.

The dog park, which will be located on Miry Brook Road next to the Federal Express building, contains two fenced in areas -- one for small dogs and one for large dogs. Water will be provided onsite, and the park will be open year round from sunrise to sunset.

Danbury Common Council President, Joe Cavo, had this to say about the park:

It's going to be one of the most utilized parks in the city. We are blessed to have many wonderful parks that provide our residents with a wide range of recreational opportunities. This dog park will be a great addition to our diverse recreational inventory here in the Hat City.

The ribbon cutting, which will be open to the public, will take place at 10 AM on Monday, October 24.
