Add another local business to the list of sudden area closings. This time, the curtain comes down on a popular gentlemen's club on Federal Road in Danbury.

Elan's of Connecticut, an elite gentlemen's club since 1993, has decided to close their doors for good, and once again, its patrons were notified on the club's Facebook page:

The final party for Elan's was held this past weekend, and marked the end of an era for the club, which for over the last 40 years, has been a local hot spot for nightlife, whether it was a dance club or, starting in 1993, a Gentlemen's Club. Throughout the entire period it's been owned and operated by George Amaral. When we asked about what's next for the property George said:

The space was purchased, and speculation is that the building will be leveled. As for me, 40 years is a long time, I had a good run but now I'm ready for the next chapter, I'm going fishing.
