Do you have a Danbury Library card? Are you in need of free Internet access? You are in luck!

According to The Danbury Daily Voice, two mobile hotspots have been added and are available to be checked out for two weeks at a time. The Friends of the Danbury Library have made this possible, so lots of thanks to them!

The hotspots, powered by T-Mobile, will allow people to have high speed Internet access to their home, workplace, during their commute (not while driving, of course), and you can even use it if you are on vacation.

Katy Chung, the digital services librarian, explained the major benefits of this addition:

“This new service will help bridge the digital gap in the community for those who do not have home Internet access," Katy Chung, digital services librarian, said in a press release. "Students can use the Internet for help with their homework and projects, employees can travel with reliable Internet access to meetings and presentations, and library customers can have home access to the library’s digital resources such as databases, e-books, streaming music and movies.”

This is part of the library's technology lending program, which allows people to check out IPads, Kindles, and Roku boxes. If you are a Danbury resident and would like a library card to take advantage of this service then visit danburylibrary.org.
