A Danbury man has been arrested on charges that claim he was involved in the sexual abuse of a child.

According to a press release from the desk of Detective Lieutenant Mark Williams of the Danbury Police Department, 39-year-old Edmond Paris of Beaver Brook Rd. in Danbury was arrested on Friday, December 7 by members of the city's Special Victims Unit.

While the department didn't release any particular details specific to the case, police say that an investigation into the sexual abuse of a child was enough to bring Paris in.

After executing the warrant issued by the Superior Court, the Danbury man was arrested on two counts of sexual assault in the first degree, two counts of aggravated sexual assault of a minor and two counts of risk of injury to a minor through sexual contact among a few other related charges.

Edmond Paris was held on a $500,000 bond.
