Three passengers were sent to Danbury Hospital yesterday after a Cessna 172S airplane crashed shortly after taking flight yesterday (July 30).

The Danbury Police Department, Fire Department, and emergency personnel rushed to the nerve-wracking scene behind the dog park on Miry Brook Road following these two 911 calls:

At the time of the crash, the Danbury PD tweeted that the accident ocurred and alerted the public that the dog park would be closed during the investigation.

While the Danbury Police Department says that it will take a significant amount of time for the NTSB to complete the investigation into the cause of the crash, the NewsTimes, reported that it appears as if the pilot of the rental plane most likely attempted to land safely once realizing that he was not able to continue in-flight.

The article says that one of the men is in critical condition with life-threatening injures, another is in serious condition, and a third man was released from the hospital after being treated for minor injuries sustained during the crash.

This is a developing investigation and we'll be sure to keep you updated as we receive further information.
