The Danbury Police Department has officially identified a local woman as the victim of the fatal motor vehicle accident that happened on Franklin St. Thursday (November 1).

According to a press release from the DPD, 69-year-old, Clemencia Guallpa of Danbury, succumbed to her injuries as a result of the accident. Family members came forward to provide a positive I.D.

Officers responded to the area of 48 Franklin St. at about 6:30 AM Thursday (November 1) after receiving a report that there had been a motor vehicle collision involving a pedestrian. Officers say that 38-year-old Angel Cambizaca of Danbury was driving down Franklin St. when his 2006 Honda Civic reportedly struck an Guallpa, who was in the roadway. She was taken to Danbury hospital for treatment, but unfortunately, that's where she passed away.
