A substantial amount of narcotics were taken off of Danbury's streets on Thursday (Oct. 20) thanks to the Danbury PD and the FBI.

At around 7:30 PM, Danbury's Special Investigations Unit, the Community Conditions Unit, and a member of the FBI executed search and seizure warrants for 30-year-old Claudio Martinez-Abreu of Danbury. According to police, Martinez-Abreu and his car were taken into custody first, then police searched his home on Ken Oaks Dr.

Between the car and the house, the DPD says that Claudio Martinez-Abreu was found to be in possession of over $31,000 of narcotics, including 720 grams of cocaine and an undisclosed amount of heroin. Aside from the drugs, he allegedly had a set of brass knuckles and loaded pistol.

Among lesser charges, Claudio Martinez-Abreu has been charged with possession of narcotics with intent to sell and possession of a weapon in a motor vehicle. He is currently being held at the Danbury Police Department for a cash bond pending arraignment.
