We're still smack dab in the middle of the school year, but it appears that we've got some over achievers in the form of some Connecticut school districts.

Niche.com, a website that analyzes and ranks U.S. school systems, just came out with their 2017 list of the nation’s top school districts. Again, we here in Connecticut, made the grade.

Niche studies all kinds of metrics like test scores, college data, student life, teacher quality, neighborhood surveys, and more. They create profiles for every K-12 school, college, university and neighborhood in America. Seven Connecticut school districts made the list, and two made the top 15.

Westport landed as Connecticut’s best school district in 2017 as number 12 on the list, and New Canaan fared well at 15.

Here are the Connecticut school districts that showed up on their national top 100 list:

Number 12 - Westport

Number 15 - New Canaan

Number 61 - Greenwich

Number 66 - Weston

Number 77 - Glastonbury

Number 86 - Darien

Number 95 - Simsbury
