Officials say debris from a small plane that disappeared on it's way to Danbury Airport has been found in a reservoir in North Salem.

Parts of  Cessna that disappeared on its way to Danbury Airport apparently has been found in a North Salem reservoir.

According to nbcconnecticut.com air traffic controllers lost contact with the plane around 4:30 p.m. on Thursday and the New York State Department of Environmental Protection confirmed that the aircraft disappeared near the Titicus Reservoir in North Salem, around 20 minutes away from Danbury airport.

Officials began the search Thursday evening, but had to call it off after 1am on Friday morning due to foggy conditions. The search resumed this morning, that's when officials from New York said they found the debris after search boats and divers scoured the reservoir.

There has been no other information released yet as to who was on the plane, where it was coming from or exactly how it went down.
