Dolly Parton Shares What Olympic Event She Would Compete In [Watch]
The Olympics are a grand series of events that occur every four years and make viewers, fans and country stars alike ask the important question: If I were an athlete, what would I compete in?
"If I were in the Olympics, people have asked me what I would be. I think probably I would have to be a swimmer, because I got that breast stroke down pretty good," she tells the camera with a sly wink.
Now, we dare you to watch that video a few times, then envision a 70-year-old Parton -- we're sure clad in a rhinestone bathing suit -- hitting the Olympic pool, and let the laughter ensue. But let's be honest, if there were to be a country star to do that, it would be her, and she'd probably be great at it.
Country music seems to be a popular theme at 2016 Olympic games in Rio. All-star athletes including swimmer Michael Phelps and gymnast Aly Raisman have admitted to listening to country before they compete.
Phelps shares that before he hits the water, he keeps Eric Church pumping through his headphones. Raisman tells Entertainment Weekly that she keeps a steady stream of Rascal Flatts and Chase Bryant on her playlists.
"This song has been out for a while, but I love country music. It makes me feel happy and calm,” Raisman shares about the Rascal Flatts hit "Rewind," adding, "Country music always puts me in a good mood.”
