It's almost time for spring break and a lot of people like to go away during that time. Sometimes it's hard to figure out where to go. Here's a list of some suggestions of fun places to go.

Some are closer to where we are, but they all have fun things for both family and adult only trips!

Boston - I love Boston!

  • Whale watching: I have been many times and sometimes you see more than other times, but it's pretty cool to see Humpback whales in their environment. The are so used to people that I have seen them roll on their side and flap their fins at the boat. So cool! I always use the New England Aquarium for whale watching.
  • Museum of Science: If you visit here you have to check out Lightning! in the Theater of Electricity. It's a really interesting show and the presentation is amazing!
  • Isabella Stewart Gardener: If you like art, this is for you. The museum is named after, you guessed it, Isabella Stewart Gardener. The whole museum is absolutely stunning.
  • For food, I always make it a point to go to No Name on the pier. I love the atmosphere and the fact that they are right on the water. The seafood chowder (chowdah) is delicious!
  • If you were a fan of the show Cheers you can check out the bar, Cheers Beacon Hill formerly known as The Bull and Finch. I guess they officially changed the name in 2002. I don't like it, but nobody asked me.
  • And, of course, there's the Freedom Trail, Quincy Market, and so much more. There is seriously a lot of stuff to do in Boston, check out this list from Trip Advisor.

Disney World - The happiest place on earth!

  • This can be a busy vacation, if you only have a week to visit. There is so much to do at this one destination it's crazy! If you decide to spend spring break in Disney World, make sure to plan. That way you can see what you want, without running all over the place and losing valuable vacation time. Check out some tips here.
  • For the adults, you can try the "Monorail Bar Crawl." There is also the World Showcase where you can "Drink Around the World" or "Eat Around the World", depending on what your mood is ;-)
  • Our favorite standout restaurant from the last trip was California Grill. The food was amazing and the views from the 15th floor of the Contemporary were beautiful. Then the topper was being able to watch the fireworks from the observation deck, with the narration piped in!
  • Everyone loved Rafiki's Planet Watch. We took the Wildlife Express Train there and you get to see behind the scenes of Disney's care for the animals at Animal Kingdom. Plus, they have a petting zoo! It was interesting and fun for all of us!
San Diego - An absolutely beautiful city!
  • I haven't been here in years, but the city definitely left an impression on me. First of all, it was like spring everyday. Seriously, the weather was perfect for almost the whole trip. A girl could get used to that!
  • The beaches. Oh my, the beaches were so nice! I saw dolphins jumping in the water near where we were! We saw seals not far off the beach too. I love the water, so this was so nice and relaxing. It's nice to just stroll the beach and listen to the waves. For a guide to San Diego Beaches, click here.
  • If you love the Bronx Zoo (great for a day trip!) then don't miss the San Diego Zoo. It is a very impressive and huge zoo, it's 100 acres! Like other zoos, they have a commitment to protect wildlife and it shows in the way the zoo is run.
