You know the old saying, "you can't judge a book by it's cover?" Well that holds true for dogs as well, especially when it comes to the perception of a certain breed.

There have been a few times during our Pet of the Week segment that Melody from the Animal Welfare Society has brought by a Pit Bull as our featured pet. Now, you say Pit Bull to someone, and they have images of these very aggressive and vicious dogs that most people fear. But with just about every Pit Bull that I have met from the Animal Welfare Society, I have met a dog that is so loving and compassionate, and a dog that gets along with everyone including other cats and dogs.

Actually, for years, Pit Bulls where used as Nanny dogs with the explicit job of watching the kids in the family. Now I don't know what kind of a Nanny Coco would be, but if you're looking for a fantastic companion dog, then Coco might be the dog for you.

Let's meet Coco right now:
