Duck Hunters near the Westside Campus of Western Connecticut State University caused the school to go into lockdown early Thursday morning.

 

According to newstrimes.com shots that were heard this morning which caused Western Connecticut State University to lockdown it's Westside campus came from duck hunters near the area of Lake Kenosia.


He said the lockdown was done as a precaution, and that the noise turned out to be duck hunters in the area of Lake Kenosia.

Due to the noises heard, local officials even did a check of U.S. Geological Survey data which showed the closest seismic activity was in Oklahoma.

Danbury police were quickly able to locate the hunter and the situation was resolved. A police spokesperson said...

No one on campus was in any danger at any time. The lockdown was a precaution until police determined the source of the gunshots.’’

Mill River, the local elementary school located near WCSU's Westside campus was also affected by the lockdown.
