Gov. Dannell Malloy just started his second gubernatorial term and he means business about Connecticut's transportation problem.

Connecticut got a bad grade on their road report card done by the federal government a couple of months ago, so that probably made Mr. Dan Malloy sweat jusssst a little bit.

His proposition? Add a lane to Interstate 95. How hard can it REALLY be!?

REALLY HARD. Like years and years of construction. Like, I won't live long enough to drive on that new lane. But hey, maybe my great, great, great grandchildren will enjoy it (ha!).

An extra lane would be great on I-95, don't get me wrong. I live right off of I-95 in Norwalk and I try to avoid it ALL costs during rush hour. But I just don't think going through the pain of years of construction is going to do any good for the transportation system in our state.

Malloy says our economy will continue to suffer if we don't have a proper transportation system, but who is going to pay for this new lane on I-95?

I think we are, and that does not help the economy at all.

Malloy also wants to put tolls on I-95 as well. Woof, this is gonna get nasty! Now I have all the more reason to avoid it even more.

What do you think? Go through all the pain to get this extra lane?
