In Connecticut, as with plenty of other corners of the world, holiday light displays are a fun, festive, and family oriented sight to celebrate the holidays.

There's not much better than packing some snacks and a thermos full of hot chocolate, piling the whole family into the car, and heading to any number of the various parks and public places that feature absolutely spectacular lighting and decorations. It's amazing to see how alive and wondrous a local place can become this time of year.

Whether it's an everyday public hiking spot decorated with bright, holiday cartoon characters, an amusement park majestically morphed into a winter wonderland, or the a local hotel completely transformed into the arctic yet warming North Pole home of everyone's favorite jolly, old elf, there is just so much cheer being spread around our very own back yard.
