The National Weather Service has issued a flood warning for the Danbury area from 4-7PM.

Flooding is expected to occur in the following locations:

  • Danbury
  • Brewster
  • Lake Carmel
  • Mahopac
  • Bethel
  • Carmel Hamlet
  • Brewster Hill
  • Chimney Point
  • Putnam Lake
  • Peach Lake

Precautionary measures suggested by the NWS are:

MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND NOW. ACT QUICKLY TO PROTECT YOUR LIFE.

TURN AROUND...DONT DROWN WHEN ENCOUNTERING FLOODED ROADS. MOST FLOOD
DEATHS OCCUR IN VEHICLES.

PLEASE REPORT FLOODING TO YOUR LOCAL LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCY WHEN YOU
CAN DO SO SAFELY.

Late Afternoon - Scattered showers and thunderstorms. Some storms could be severe, with damaging winds and heavy rain. Partly sunny, with a high near 83. Southwest wind around 9 mph. Chance of precipitation is 50%.
Tonight - Scattered showers and thunderstorms, mainly before 8pm. Some of the storms could be severe. Mostly clear, with a low around 57. Northwest wind 5 to 8 mph becoming calm after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 30%.
Friday - Sunny, with a high near 81. Northeast wind around 7 mph becoming south in the afternoon.
