All kids wish they could fly. Who am I kidding? All grownups wish they could fly too! It's fascinating to study and look at things that fly like birds, airplanes, even reptiles. Connecticut's Beardsley Zoo has owls, eagles, vultures, and wild turkeys! They even have a South American rainforest with a free flight aviary just make sure to keep your head down.

The New England Air Museum in Windsor Locks has a spectacular aviation display collection which both kids and adults will find fascinating! Kids will find simulators, demonstrations, and lots of aircraft ranging from Bell helicopters, to a Grumman "Hellcat" to an amazing Boeing B-29 "Superfortress."

Action Wildlife has dozens of wild animals in their natural habitat which you can take the kids to see on a drive-thru safari. There's also a petting zoo, a museum/exploration center, and hayrides. Animals at Action Wildlife include ostriches, ibex, bison, zebra, and elk.

Watch your kid's face light up when you tell him you're going to be camping at a major amusement park over nite! At the new "Bear Creek Campground at Lake Compounce" you'll have a bunch of camping options like, tent and RV sites, tipis that take up to four cots, Cub huts, and 1 and 2 bedroom cabins.

Dinosaur State Park is located in Rocky Hill where you can see 5,000 sandstone dinosaur tracks(one of the largest collections of preserved Jurassic tracks in the world), touch fossils in the Discovery Room, and then head over to the museum's casting area to make a trip souvenir. If your child is a big dinosaur fan, this is a must trip!
