Free Mammograms During Breast Cancer Awareness Month & All Year
October is breast cancer awareness month, and it’s hard to comprehend, estimates from the American Cancer Society reveal that more than 46,000 women in America will pass away from breast cancer this year. 430 of those women will be from right here in Connecticut.
While it’s true that an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure, and early detection saves lives, some women may not have access to mammograms because of costs that may be affiliated with them. To help with this the State of Connecticut's Department of Health has a program for free mammogram screenings all over the state. If you or someone you know could benefit form free screenings, visit their website to see if you qualify for them.
For information you can call: The Connecticut Department of Public Health at (860)-509-8251. I can tell you first hand that it takes a matter of moments to get a mammogram, but it could definitely add years to your life.
