Yesterday, we had our "Where Is it Wednesday" segment on the show. This time around, the landmark was the Wolf Conservation Center in South Salem, NY.

Right when I saw their homepage, I knew this was a place I would like to visit. There is a baby wolf on the homepage. So cute!

What is the Wolf Conservation Center? Here is part of their mission statement:

The Wolf Conservation Center teaches people about wolves, their relationship to the environment, and the human role in protecting their future.

They have a bunch of different programs that you can sign up for, and you have to sign up for something in order to visit. It's not a place where you can just show up to. They mention on their website that they are a private facility, so they don't publicize their address.

Here are some of the programs they offer:

  • Daytime Programs
    • Wolves of North America
    • Pack Chat for Kids
    • Winter Wolves
    • Photo Sessions
    • Special Lectures
    • Become a Wolf Conservation Center Keeper for a Day
  • Evening Programs
    • Evening Howls
    • Wolf Awareness Programming

Check out their program calendar for dates and prices.

They also have group programs, birthday party packages, and gift certificates available. If you want to see the enclosures you can check out one of their enclosure cams.

I have not been to the Wolf Conservation Center yet, but I definitely want to bring the family there for a visit sometime soon. It sounds like a fun family activity. Plus, we'll get to learn some cool facts about wolves. Sign me up!
